Lucknow: In a push towards infrastructure development and digital service delivery, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation on Thursday inaugurated 456 projects worth Rs 29.62 crore in Zone 1, covering Hazratganj, Lalbagh, Aminabad, Kaiserbagh and adjoining areas. The projects were unveiled at a programme held at Jhandi Wala Park, where an online booking portal for Kalyan Mandaps and community centres was also launched.Mayor Sushma Kharkwal inaugurated the projects and dedicated them to residents. Officials said the works include road construction and widening, drainage strengthening, and park beautification to improve traffic flow, sanitation and green spaces. The newly launched portal will allow residents to check availability and book Kalyan Mandaps and community centres from home, reducing the need for physical visits and enhancing transparency.The civic body also notified booking charges for centres in areas such as Mahanagar, Jiyamau, Vikas Nagar, Mansarovar, Anand Nagar, Saraswati Nagar, Lalbagh, Narhi, Ganeshganj and Sarojini Nagar, with fees varying by facility size. The mayor said the projects would strengthen infrastructure while preserving the city’s heritage and urged citizens to help maintain public assets and cleanliness. The programme was attended by executive vice chairperson Charanjeet Gandhi, municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar and others.
