Kanpur: Ballast stones placed on railway track for shooting reels hit the engine of MEMU train running from Etawah to Kanpur at 6:15pm on down line near Gram Chunni Ki Madaiya, causing a loud explosive sound. The loco pilot stopped the train and removed the stone ballast while passengers got off.It was reported that people from surrounding area had placed large ballast stones on the Delhi-Howrah rail route to shoot video reels. After the train crossed Bharthana railway station, the engine collided with the stones near pole number 1130 before Samhon and there was an explosive sound. Stopping the train for 5 minutes, the loco pilot inspected the engine. The train was checked again at Samhon railway station and then flagged off for Kanpur. Samhon railway station master said RPF was informed about the matter. North Central Railway deputy PRO Amit Malviya said after investigation, nothing was found at the spot and the train proceeded.
