Lucknow: Growing importance of robotics in paediatric surgery and achievements of SGPGI’s paediatric surgery department will be discussed at a three-day-long conclave beginning Friday.Faculty at department of Pediatric Surgical Super Specialties, Dr Basant Kumar, said, “We have undertaken more than 170 complex paediatric surgeries since 2022 and some of these procedures have become a benchmark. The conference aims at sharing our experience with the fraternity for larger social interest. In addition, the conclave will serve as a platform for exchange of knowledge.” Speaking on behalf of his team and robotic surgery experts at SGPGI, he said, “The meet will focus on how robotics is enabling greater precision, minimal invasiveness and improved outcomes in complex neonatal and paediatric procedures. Experts will deliberate on key nuances, including surgical ergonomics, docking strategies, cost considerations and learning curve associated with robotic systems.”
