Andaman and Nicobar Police recruitment 2026: The Andaman & Nicobar Police has commenced the application process for its Recruitment 2026 drive, offering 495 vacancies across Group B (Non-Gazetted) and Group C posts. The notification was issued on April 25, 2026, with the online application window opening today and continuing until May 17, 2026.The recruitment covers multiple operational units, including the Executive Branch, Police Radio, Motor Transport, Marine Force, Fire & Emergency Services, and India Reserve Battalion. Candidates are required to apply through the official online portal, with no offline mode available.Recruitment structure and selection stagesThe selection process will be conducted in several stages, beginning with the Physical Measurement and Endurance Test (PM&ET), followed by a written examination. Depending on the post applied for, candidates may also undergo a trade or skill test. Document verification and a medical examination will conclude the process. The PM&ET stage is qualifying in nature and includes standards for height, chest measurement, running, and jumping events. Male candidates are required to complete a 1600-metre race in seven minutes, while female candidates must complete an 800-metre race in five minutes.Application schedule and fee detailsOnline registration started at 11:00 AM today and will close at 11:59 PM on May 17, 2026. The examination date will be notified separately. Application fees are set at Rs 100 for General, OBC, and EWS male candidates. Female candidates, along with those from ST, PwD, and Ex-servicemen categories, are exempted from fee payment. Payment can be made through net banking, UPI, or debit and credit cards.Vacancy distribution and eligibility criteriaThe 495 vacancies are spread across various posts such as Sub-Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector, Constable, Fireman, and technical roles. In the Executive Branch, 155 vacancies are available for Constable (Executive), while the Police Radio organisation includes 71 posts for Radio Operator (ASI).Eligibility varies by post, ranging from Class 10 and 12 qualifications to diplomas and graduate degrees in relevant fields such as electronics, communication, and engineering. Certain roles require additional certifications, including driving licences, ITI qualifications, or trade-specific experience.Age limits differ by role. Sub-Inspector and ASI posts have an upper age limit of 30 years, while Constable posts range between 18 and 25 years for men and up to 30 years for women. Relaxations are applicable as per government rules.Application process and instructionsCandidates must complete registration, upload necessary documents, pay the applicable fee, and submit the form online. Authorities have stated that no corrections will be permitted after submission, making accuracy in application details essential.
