Deepak Chahar dismissed Priyansh Arya after setting him up with a planned sequence of deliveries, during the IPL 2026 match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in Dharamsala on Thursday. In the 58th match of the tournament, Mumbai Indians were led by Jasprit Bumrah, who stepped in as captain with Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav unavailable. Bumrah won the toss and chose to field first.Punjab Kings openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh put together a 50-run partnership before Chahar got the breakthrough in the final over of the powerplay. On the second ball of the over, Chahar bowled a fast inswinging yorker from around the wicket. The ball moved sharply towards the leg stump at high pace and nearly hit it. Priyansh was beaten and moved his leg away, and the ball went for four byes.On the next ball, Chahar kept the same action and setup but changed the pace, bowling a slower knuckle ball. Priyansh expected another quick inswinger and went for a lofted drive. He played early, and the ball went through to hit the leg stump. The celebration explained everything as Deepak Chahar knew the previous ball had already set the batter up. In the match, Prabhsimran Singh smashed a fluent half-century before Shardul Thakur’s four-wicket burst triggered a dramatic collapse, but a strong late surge helped Punjab Kings post a competitive 200 for 8 against Mumbai Indians.Asked to bat first after suffering four successive defeats, PBKS rode on an attacking 33-ball 50-run opening stand between Priyansh Arya (27) and Prabhsimran (57).
