Indian coach Amol Muzumdar believes his team could bounce back from the disappointing defeat to South Africa in the Women’s T20 World Cup on Sunday. “We knew it was a crunch game,” he said. “You need to give credit to South Africa and Marizanne Kapp.”
Muzumdar pointed out that it was not the end of the tournament. India still has matches against Bangladesh and Australia left in the group stage. “There is no doubt in my mind that if we play to our potential, we can be on the right side of those two games,” he said.
About India’s poor fielding, he said, “Radha (Yadav) has been an exceptional fielder, I think a world-class fielder. Those two catches were there, but those things happen on a cricket field. Sometimes things go right, sometimes things go wrong. She is a strong character, and I am sure somewhere in this tournament she will make up for it”.
