LUDHIANA: Five days after a Punjabi Singer from Ludhiana’s Mundian Kalan area, Yashinder Kaur, 29, popularly known as Inder Kaur, was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint, the woman’s body was found from Neelon Canal near village Kuba on Tuesday. The woman had left the house in his Ford Figo car which the police recovered from near the Neelon Canal in Rampur village. Blood stains have also been found in the woman’s car. The Jamalpur police had already lodged an FIR against the woman’s male friend from Moga named Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, who currently lives in Canada, his father Pritam Singh and friend Karamjeet Singh- of village Bhaloor in Moga. The police stated that the Canada based accused came to India via Nepal on April 29 and returned on May 13, the same day when the woman was kidnapped. The police, however have arrested Sukha’s father Pritam Singh and friend Karamjeet Singh. Jyotinder Singh, the brother of the Punjabi Singer had told police that on May 13 his sister had had left the house in her Ford Figo car at around 8:30 PM for grocery shopping, however she did not return home. The family tried to contact her, but her mobile was switched off. Thereafter, the family searched for her during which they discovered that the accused Sukhwinder along with his associates, kidnapped her at gunpoint from GTB Nagar in Mundian Kalan area. Sub Inspector Dalvir Singh, SHO at Jamalpur police station said, “The family had told police that Yashinder and Sukhwinder were in relationship earlier, however they parted ways due to some unknown reason. As Yashinder had refused to marry Sukhwinder, the accused kidnapped her at gunpoint.” “On Tuesday, the woman’s body was fished out of the Neelon Canal near village Kuba. About one kilometer away from the spot, the police also recovered the woman’s car that had blood stains in it. The initial probe suggests that the woman was murdered in the car and later her body was dumped into canal” he added. The SHO further stated, “The police have got details that Sukhwinder traveled to India via Kathmandu, Nepal on April 29 and returned via the same route on May 13. The police have arrested Sukhwinder’s father Pritam Singh and friend Karamjeet Singh.”
