Now, over a year after the Pahalgam attack and India’s strong retaliatory action, Pakistan has made a bizarre claim of engaging and hitting two airbases in India that do not even exist, after being hit hard last year during counterterror operations under Operation Sindoor.The strong military action under Operation Sindoor was met with a Pakistani counter, as Islamabad launched a barrage of missiles and drone swarms towards India. He said that under Operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos, Pakistan targeted and engaged two airbases, Rajouri and Mamun, both located in bordering sectors along the India-Pakistan border. Similarly, Mamun falls in Punjab’s Pathankot district, another area close to the border, but neither location has an airbase.Last year as well, during official briefings, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi confirmed that Pakistan used long-range weapons and loitering munitions, which were all intercepted and destroyed by India’s highly coordinated multi-layered air defence response.
