Lucknow: A 21-year-old man allegedly died by suicide in Krishna Nagar area on Saturday morning reportedly after his father took away his mobile phone, police said.Ayush Chauhan was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside his room at the family’s residence in the LDA Colony on Kanpur Road. Police sent the body for post mortem examination and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the incident.According to family members, Ayush had been spending most of his time on his mobile phone over the past few days and was reportedly not paying attention to routine work.On Sunday morning, his father, Sanjay Singh Chauhan, a garment dealer, called him for some work but received no response. Upset over his son’s lack of attention, he allegedly took away Ayush’s mobile phone.Family members said Ayush got angry and went to his room, locking the door from inside. When he did not come out for a long time, family members called out to him but received no response.Fearing something was wrong, the family informed police control room. A team from Krishna Nagar police station reached the spot and, with the help of family members, broke open the door and found Ayush’s body hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta for noose. He was declared dead at the scene.A forensic team was called to collect evidence from the room before the body was brought down and sent for autopsy.ACP, Krishnanagar, Rajneesh Kumar, said statements of family members are being recorded and all aspects of the case are being examined. Further investigation is underway.
