Moscow’s four airports were briefly shut on Monday after Russian air defence systems intercepted dozens of drones targeting the capital, authorities said.Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Telegram that 59 drones had been shot down, while Russia’s aviation watchdog temporarily suspended operations at all four airports to ensure flight safety. The airport closures came amid continuing cross-border drone and missile attacks between Russia and Ukraine. On Sunday evening, Russia struck Ukraine’s southern Odesa region with an Iskander ballistic missile, killing one person and injuring three others, according to regional governor Oleh Kiper. The strike hit an agricultural facility in the Odesa district, triggering fires in vehicles and fuel storage tanks. Ukrainian authorities said emergency services were deployed to contain the blaze and assess the damage.
