LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted a two-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the devastating fire incident in Lucknow that claimed multiple lives and left several others injured. The decision was taken following a high-level review meeting chaired by the chief minister after the tragedy. According to official orders, the SIT will comprise Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Religious Affairs and Culture Department, and Praveen Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (ADG), Lucknow Zone. The panel has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive inquiry into the causes and circumstances of the fire, examining compliance with building and fire safety norms, and identifying any lapses or negligence that may have contributed to the incident. The chief minister has directed the SIT to submit its report within seven days. The investigation is expected to cover all aspects of the tragedy, including building approvals, safety clearances, emergency response mechanisms, and the role of concerned officials and agencies. Officials said the findings of the SIT will form the basis for further administrative and legal action against those found responsible for any violations or negligence.
