Bengaluru/Lucknow: Pitching Uttar Pradesh as India’s next major destination for investment, CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday told business leaders that the state has emerged as a “3S model of safety, stability and speed” — three factors he described as critical for industry and economic growth.Addressing corporate leaders at the Uttar Pradesh Global Growth Dialogue 2026 roadshow in Bengaluru, he said: “The state’s transformation over the past nine years has been driven by improved law and order, world-class infrastructure, seamless connectivity, transparent governance and an investor-friendly policy framework.”Drawing parallels with Bengaluru’s rise as a global technology powerhouse, the CM invited India Inc to experience UP’s growth story firsthand. “You have seen Bengaluru evolve from a Garden City into a global technology hub. I invite you to visit Uttar Pradesh and witness the transformation taking place there,” he said.Highlighting the state’s economic turnaround, Yogi said UP had shed its image of a BIMARU state and emerged as one of the country’s top three economies. He attributed the change to political stability, improved governance and sustained investments in infrastructure. The state, he said, has remained revenue-surplus for the past six years, while its economy and per capita income have nearly tripled over the last nine years. The CM said UP now offers investors a complete industrial ecosystem, backed by 36 sector-specific policies and a land bank of 75,000 acres.Industrial and logistics clusters are being developed at 27 locations along expressways, while the country’s largest industrial cities is coming up under BIDA (Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority).Seeking to reassure investors on connectivity and logistics, Yogi highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s extensive infrastructure network, including 60% of the country’s expressways, a 16,000-km railway network and nearly four lakh kilometres of roads. He also cited the state’s growing air connectivity which now has five international, 11 domestic and five more airports under development. Commercial flight operations from Noida International Airport started earlier this month, further boosting the state’s attractiveness for global businesses.Emphasising the availability of skilled manpower, the CM said Uttar Pradesh produces nearly two lakh STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) graduates every year through a vast network of higher education and technical institutions, including two IITs, an IIM and three state technical universities.Govt, he added, is aligning skilling programmes with industry requirements in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity. The CM also highlighted gains in agriculture and the MSME sector. Agricultural growth, he said, has risen from 8% to 18% over the past nine years, supported by five agricultural universities and 89 Krishi Vigyan Kendras. The state is home to nearly 96 lakh MSME units, many of which have benefited from the One District One Product scheme. The number of large industrial units in Uttar Pradesh has more than doubled during the period, rising from around 14,000 to over 33,000.Assuring investors of policy continuity and administrative support, Yogi said the state’s double-engine govt would provide security, single-window clearances and a stable policy regime.“The possibilities you have heard about in UP can be experienced through your own investments,” he said, urging businesses to become partners in the state’s growth journey and India’s broader development aspirations.
