Karnataka School Education Department has standardised Saturday school timings for all government, aided and private schools across the state. From now on, all schools will function from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm on Saturdays, bringing an end to different schedules followed in various districts.Until now, Saturday timings varied from one school to another. While some schools held classes from 8 am to noon, others operated from 7.30 am to 11.30 am. According to local media, the department has now directed every school to follow the same four-hour schedule. The department said the change will make school timings more predictable for students and parents. With all schools starting and ending classes at the same time on Saturdays, families will no longer have to keep track of different schedules. The common timing is also expected to help teachers comply with the state’s mandatory online attendance system. As all schools will begin classes at the same time, teachers will be able to mark their attendance in a uniform manner across the state.
