NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose has announced that she will join the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar this evening , where activists have been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over repeated examination paper leaks and alleged irregularities.In a post on X, Ghose said the young protesters have been demonstrating for the past 12 days in extreme heat.“For 12 days, in 45°C heat, the young activists of the Cockroach Janata Party have been sitting in protest in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan,” she wrote.The TMC leader alleged that repeated examination leaks and “exam messes” had pushed students to the brink of despair.“Repeated examination leaks and exam messes have pushed youth to the brink of despair and agony. Fourteen have lost their lives. Yet a callous Narendra Modi government is ignoring them because it just does not care,” Ghose said, adding that she would join the protest later in the day.Earlier, Ghose also expressed solidarity with CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke, writing, “It is our duty to support your brave struggle.”Dipke welcomed her participation, thanking the TMC MP for extending support to the movement.The protest at Jantar Mantar has drawn attention in recent days, with climate activist Sonam Wangchuk also participating through a hunger strike in support of the demonstrators’ demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over alleged failures in the conduct of competitive examinations.His hunger strike has enterned day 4 today with supporters raising concerns over his health. Posting an update about his health, Sonam Wangchuk wrote, “I’m feeling ok, bit tired though.”
