Lucknow: A woman has alleged that she was sexually harassed and assaulted by three motorcycle-borne youths in front of her husband in Gomtinagar. Police have registered an FIR against one identified accused and two unidentified persons under charges of molestation and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).According to the complaint, the incident occurred on Saturday at around 11 am when the woman, a native of Badaun who currently resides in Viram Khand with her family, was travelling on a motorcycle with her husband from Gwari towards Charbagh.The complainant alleged that three youths riding another motorcycle approached them from the opposite direction and made obscene gestures and passed lewd remarks at her. When her husband objected to their behaviour, the accused allegedly became aggressive and engaged in a verbal altercation.The woman further alleged that the three youths followed the couple, abused them, pushed them and assaulted them. She also claimed that the accused threatened to kill them if they approached the police. One of the accused is stated to be physically disabled.Based on the woman’s complaint, Gomtinagar police have registered an FIR against Shri Ram, who has been named in the complaint, and two unidentified accused.Brajesh Chandra Tiwari said CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify and trace the remaining accused. Further investigation is underway.
