AYODHYA: Ahead of a crucial meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Wednesday, Nirmohi Akhara chief and Trust member Mahant Dinendra Das backed the inclusion of Yatindra Mohan Pratap Mishra, son of late trustee Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, among the three new trustees to be inducted into the Trust.Speaking to TOI, before the meeting, Dinendra Das, said Yatindra deserved consideration following his father’s demise and described him as a writer who has been associated with the Trust’s cultural activities. He said Yatindra should be elected as one of the three trustees to fill the existing vacancies. The Mahant also stressed that the Trust should preserve the Ramanandi Vaishnav tradition in temple management and worship. He said the temple’s rituals, priestly arrangements and distribution of prasad were functioning smoothly and that facilities for devotees had improved. According to him, both pilgrim footfall and donations had increased after recent administrative changes. He said those inducted into the Trust should be individuals of integrity who uphold the temple’s traditions and avoid any financial impropriety. On speculation about former general secretary Champat Rai returning to the Trust, Dinendra Das said no such proposal had come before him and that he would abide by whatever decision the Trust collectively takes. The Trust is meeting on Wednesday to fill three vacant trustee positions and restore its sanctioned strength. Discussions are also expected on committee reorganisation and other administrative matters.
