Lucknow: Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh on Monday flagged several land deals in which Ram Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai reportedly purchased land on behalf of the Trust at highly escalated cost.Sharing 13 new pieces of “evidence” against Rai, Singh said, “A case refers to Gata number 25 of 62 biswa. The actual market value of this land was only Rs 1.73 crore, but Rai bought it from Tanvi Bansal and Manish Bansal for Rs 29.68 crore.”“Gata number 274 was purchased from Saiyad Mohammad Nizamuddin, Javed Idris and Suhel Iqbal for Rs 6.45 crore, whereas its value was Rs 1.96 crore. Land which Vishva Mohini Chaube purchased for Rs 9 lakh was sold to the Trust for Rs 98.2 lakh,” Singh said.Singh shared other documents related to purchase of land from Yashoda Nandan and Kaushal Kishor Tripathi for Rs 4 crore, which had a market value of Rs 1.61 crore. Land worth Rs 25.2 lakh was bought in 2021 for Rs 1.75 crore. Witnesses in this deal were Trust member Anil Mishra and Rajkumar Das.“I submitted a written complaint with documentary evidence at Ayodhya’s Kotwali in 2021, but no FIR has been lodged to date. Why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi silent on this mega scam? Why is the Modi govt not immediately dissolving this highly corrupt Trust, and why has Champat Rai, the main accused in donation theft, not yet been arrested?” Singh asked. He said that he would write to the Special Investigation Team again to seek time for handing over the evidence.Singh said that various members of the Trust, including chairperson Mahant Nritya Gopal Das and treasurer Govind Dev Giri, admitted that massive financial irregularities tookplace in temple donation.
