Kanpur: At least 10 people were injured, four of them seriously, after a trailer crossed the central railing and entered the opposite lane on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Unnao district on Wednesday morning, leading to a collision involving four vehicles.Police said the accident took place when the trailer driver, who was travelling from Agra towards Lucknow, dozed off at the wheel.The vehicle went out of control, broke the railing and hit an 18-wheeler truck in the opposite lane. A double-decker bus carrying 49 passengers also collided with the trailer while a pickup vehicle travelling behind the bus crashed into the bus. Auras police station in charge Sanjeev Kumar Kushwaha and UPEIDA personnel reached the spot and sent the injured to nearest community health centre. TNNPolice and UPEIDA personnel cleared the road with the help of a crane.“A total of 10 injured people were taken to the CHC, of whom four patients were referred to the King George’s Medical College in Lucknow,” Kushwaha said.
