Lucknow: More than 1.92 lakh candidates appeared for the lecturer cadre written examination conducted over two days across the state and Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission officials claimed on Sunday that deploying AI-based surveillance and real-time monitoring systems helped ensure a transparent recruitment process free of unfair means..The examination concluded at designated centres on May 9 and 10 amid tight security and technology-driven supervision. UPESSC chairman Prashant Kumar said a total of 1,92,934 candidates appeared in the exam over two days, recording an overall attendance of 41.53 percent.On May 9, around 89,766 candidates appeared for the examination, accounting for 38.04 percent attendance. Female attendance stood at 34.89 percent, while male attendance was recorded at 42.26 percent.On May 10, nearly 1,03,168 candidates took the examination, taking attendance percentage to 45.12 percent. Female attendance on the second day was 41.92 percent, while male attendance reached 48.08 percent.The exam was conducted in two shifts on each day. The morning shift, held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, included papers of civics, mathematics, economics, Sanskrit and psychology. In the afternoon shift, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, chemistry, geography, Hindi and fine arts exams were held.All examination centres were monitored in real time through an AI-integrated Control Command Room established at the Commission headquarters in Lucknow. The system enabled continuous surveillance of candidates and examination halls through AI-enabled cameras.Senior commission officials, including chairman, members, secretary, examination controller and deputy secretary, monitored the examination process live from the command centre on both days.Prashant Kumar said state govt was committed to making recruitment examinations fair, transparent and technology-driven. The commission also introduced a pilot project at selected centres in Lucknow where OMR answer sheets were scanned inside the halls immediately after the completion of the exam.Officials said scanning was conducted in the presence of candidates and the data was digitally secured instantly to prevent tampering or manipulation.The commission chairman appreciated cooperation extended by district administration and police authorities in ensuring smooth conduct of the examination. He also thanked candidates, centre administrators and officials associated with the recruitment process.
