Lucknow: Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow is set to further expand its aircraft handling capacity from May 14, with the addition of six new parking bays/stands on apron 1.These stands, numbered 101L, 101, 101R, 102L, 102 and 102R, will support both narrow‑body and wide‑body aircraft, including long‑haul planes such as Airbus A320, ATR 72, Airbus A310, Boeing 757, Boeing 777 and Airbus A 330.According to official source of Lucknow International Airport Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprise Ltd, currently, the CCSIA can handle 19 aircrafts at time, but from May 14, with commissioning of new bays/stands, the aircraft parking capacity will increase up to 24 including wide‑body and long haul aircrafts.Designed as a multiple aircraft ramp system, the stands will offer flexibility in parking different aircraft types and are also equipped with advanced visual docking guidance systems along with power‑in and pushback facilities. Reversed taxi, pushbacks and low‑visibility procedures have also been introduced to ensure safe movements around these new bays. This upcoming development builds on infrastructure upgrades commissioned earlier on April 16.As part of that phase, the airport operationalized a new taxiway P6, along with portions of taxiway P, taxiway L3 and a dedicated taxi lane, improving connectivity between the runway and apron areas.Highlight of the April upgrade was the commissioning of a new East apron with five additional aircraft parking stands numbered 212 to 216, primarily meant for Airbus A320, ATR-72 and Boeing 737‑type aircraft.Taxiway P6 now provides direct access to the East apron and plays a crucial role during low‑visibility operations, particularly in winter fog conditions common in Lucknow.
