Lucknow: A 32-year-old woman manager of a premium saloon in the city was found dead inside her 8th floor flat in a posh apartment in Gomti Nagar Extension after police broke open the door on Tuesday. Police had been called after repeated attempts to contact her failed. The woman uploaded her video on social media, weeping and alleging mental harassment by her employer and her colleagues as reason driving her to suicide. She also informed one of her friends over phone before taking the extreme step and the friend informed police.In the video making rounds on social media, she named five persons, including the saloon owner and colleagues. “Those named by the woman in the video include her employer and colleagues and we are investigating the matter before taking action,” said Sudheer Awasthi, SHO, Gomti Nagar Extension police station.According to police, the incident came to light around 2.30 am when information was received that a woman resident of an apartment on Shaheed Path had locked herself inside and was not responding despite repeated calls from neighbours and security staff.“A police team found the flat locked from inside and with the help of neighbours and tower security guards, broke open the door,” the SHO added.Police added that inside the room, they found body of the woman hanging from the ceiling. Officers brought the body down and informed senior officials. “During preliminary inquiry, police found that the woman was originally from Gorakhpur district and had been living alone in the apartment. She was a manager at a saloon in the Gomti Nagar Extension police station area,” said police.Police said the woman’s family had been informed and the body had been sent for post mortem. A mobile phone recovered from the spot has been seized by police for investigation.
