Lucknow: UP BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary said that the unveiling of the statue of BR Ambedkar in Bachhrawan was a symbol of his party’s unwavering faith in social justice, equality and the values enshrined in the Constitution.Insisting that the Samajwadi Party (SP) was engaged in the politics of dynasty and appeasement, Chaudhary said that during the SP regime, it was the rule of the mafia, not Ambedkar’s Constitution, that prevailed in the state.Chaudhary remarked that those who failed to accord Baba Saheb due respect during his lifetime are now engaging in politics in his name.Consequently, he said, the people of Uttar Pradesh ousted those associated with riots in 2017 and elected those associated with the revered Ganga. He said that Babasaheb’s life teaches us that, even in the face of adversity, profound societal transformation can be achieved through unwavering determination and education.“His entire life was dedicated to the uplift of Dalit, deprived and exploited sections of society. He waged a ceaseless struggle to eradicate the inequalities prevalent in society and to strengthen democracy,” Chaudhary said.He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Babasaheb’s ideals are being honoured in the truest sense across the country. He highlighted that the Central Govt has undertaken numerous initiatives — such as the development of the ‘Panchteerth’ (five pilgrimage sites), the construction of memorials and the observance of Babasaheb’s birth anniversary at a national level — all of which serve as a testament to the respect accorded to him.The state BJP president affirmed that Uttar Pradesh’s “double-engine govt” is equally committed to translating Babasaheb’s ideals into tangible reality on the ground. He noted that, through the BR Ambedkar Statue Development Scheme, state govt is actively engaged in the preservation and beautification of his statues. He asserted that social justice is not merely a slogan, but a core priority for the govt. Over the past decade, the Central Govt has launched numerous schemes aimed at the welfare of the poor, farmers, women and marginalised sections of society. The state president concluded by stating that Uttar Pradesh is currently advancing rapidly on the path of development. The state’s economy has witnessed remarkable growth; new investment opportunities have emerged, and an increase in exports has also been recorded. He stated that this transformation is the result of the policies of the ‘double-engine’ govt and its commitment to good governance.
