NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah will launch a nationwide “Drug Disposal Fortnight Campaign” this Friday to facilitate the destruction of more than 2 lakh kg of confiscated narcotics valued at Rs 6,000 crore.The sweeping operation will anchor the 10th Apex-Level Meeting of the Narco-Coordination Centre, which comes as govt prepares to unveil its comprehensive battle plan against synthetic drugs and darknet-enabled trafficking over the next three years.The meeting on June 26 will bring together key stakeholders from 44 ministries and central departments alongside 108 representatives from state govts and drug law enforcement agencies. To formalise the crackdown, Shah is scheduled to release the “Vision Document on Narcotics Control (2026-2029)”. Shah will also release the NCB annual report for 2025 and inaugurate its newly constructed offices in Jammu and Guwahati. TNN
