JAMMU: Chief of Army Staff, General Dhiraj Seth, visited forward areas along the Line of Control in J&K’s Rajouri-Poonch belt Thursday to review the region’s security situation, counter-infiltration grid, operational preparedness of formations under the corps, and combat readiness of troops.Seth’s first visit to the twin frontier districts after assuming office came amid heightened security measures in the belt for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.The CoAS visited Nagrota-based White Knight Corps HQ, where senior commanders briefed him on the current security dynamics, operational deployments and surveillance architecture in the region. Gen Seth interacted with troops deployed at forward posts and boosted their morale, officials said. The Northern Army Commander, 16 Corps Commander, and GOC 25 Division accompanied him.Gen Seth later visited forward locations in Poonch district and reviewed the evolving security environment. He met senior military officials at Poonch Brigade HQ, where he was briefed on troop deployment, integrated operational readiness, and the prevailing security scenario, a defence spokesperson said.
