LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday highlighted an unusual case of theft, claiming that a person travelling in a luxury car worth around Rs 2.5 crore was caught on CCTV allegedly stealing a flower pot worth just Rs 45.Speaking about the misuse of public property, the chief minister said the government would not allow damage or theft of civic infrastructure installed for beautification projects.“We install flower pots, and someone comes in a car and takes away the pot. The fuel used in the car itself could have bought a new pot,” Yogi Adityanath said while addressing an event in Uttar Pradesh.Calling it a “new model of theft”, the chief minister said CCTV surveillance revealed that an expensive luxury vehicle was allegedly used to steal the flower pot.“Such an expensive vehicle — around a Rs 2.5 crore car — and yet it was used to steal a pot worth Rs 45,” he said. The chief minister added that people could instead buy a flower pot themselves, maintain dignity and contribute to keeping cities beautiful.“CCTV cameras are installed everywhere now. We keep monitoring through them,” he said, warning against theft or damage to government property.
