Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Tanmay Vekaria is mourning his father Arvind Vekaria’s demise. Arvind Vekaria was a respected Gujarati actor and director. He passed away on Wednesday and is remembered for his significant contribution to Gujarati theatre and television. Tanmay is currently going through a difficult phase as his mother passed away just eight months ago, and this is his second major loss.Arvind Vekaria’s death was announced by CINTAA, which also paid tribute to him and expressed condolences to his family. Fans and industry members soon shared their grief and remembered his work in theatre and television.For the uninitiated, the veteran actor was a renowned name in Gujarati theatre and worked for many years as an actor, director, and stage artist. He was respected for his hard work and contribution towards Gujarati theatre. He was loved by both colleagues and audiences for his work. Arvind Vekaria was best remembered for his performances in Gujarati productions and films like Yashoda, Chhanu Chamaklo and Rupiyo Nach Nachave.Not just Gujarati projects, the seasoned actor has also worked television’s iconic show Shaktimaan, starring Mukesh Khanna. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fans remember Arvind Vekaria from his cameo appearance in the popular sitcom.Tanmay Vekaria gained popularity as Bagha in the sitcom, while his father Arvind Vekaria also appeared in a cameo in one of the episodes. Fans were delighted when they discovered their family connection.For those who may not know, in one of the episodes of TMKOC, Arvind Vaidya essayed the role of a jeweller. As per the storyline Atmaram Bhide (Mandar Chandwadkar) was shown facing financial crisis and he decides to mortgage his wife Madhavi’s jewellery. In the track, Bhide takes the gold jewellery to Arvind Vekaria, who played the role of the jeweller.In one of his old interviews, Tanmay shared how his father’s work in theatre inspired him to become an actor, “I was born and raised in Kandivali in a lower-middle-class family. Our family consisted of my parents, my brother Manveet, and me. Today, my brother is a chartered accountant and is settled in Australia. My father, Arvind Vekaria, is a well-known name in Gujarati theatre. Watching him perform on stage from a young age sparked my interest in acting and inspired me to pursue the craft.“Recently, while shooting for the show, Tanmay became emotional remembering his mother. He reportedly remembered his mother, who recently passed away. Unable to control his emotions, Tanmay broke down and started crying on the set. The shoot had to be halted immediately as everyone present watched the heartbreaking moment unfold. His mother was one of his biggest admirers and absolutely loved seeing him on screen as Bagha. The thought that she was no longer there to witness the audience’s love for his current storyline became too much for the actor to bear.
