Lucknow: A 26-year-old private bank employee allegedly died by suicide in Chinhat area, reportedly during a video call with a female friend late Tuesday.The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when friends found him hanging inside his rented accommodation.Akarsh Mishra, a native of Belsar village of Basti, was working in a private bank, primarily handling sales and credit card-related services, and was residing on rent in Aastha Nagar colony in Matiyari.According to police, Mishra ate dinner on Tuesday night and then retired to his room. Later, the two reportedly had an argument during a video call.According to the family’s complaint, Mishra allegedly took the extreme step during the call itself. The woman is said to have informed one of Mishra’s friends immediately after witnessing the incident on video, prompting them to rush to his residence.The friends eventually broke open the door and found Mishra hanging from the ceiling fan using a dupatta. He was immediately taken down and rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Mishra’s mobile phone has been seized for forensic analysis to verify the sequence of events and communication records.Officials at Chinhat police station said further action will be taken based on the complaint filed by the family and findings from the investigation.Police said all angles, including the alleged dispute and circumstances leading to the suicide, are being thoroughly examined.
