Lucknow: Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh on Wednesday reviewed 27 proposals aimed at expanding tourism infrastructure across Bareilly division, with the focus on developing local shrines, cultural venues and visitor facilities for inclusion in the state’s 2026-27 action plan.The proposals, covering Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit and Badaun, are part of the state govt’s division-wise review of tourism, culture and religious affairs projects across UP.The list comprises 23 proposals from the tourism department, two from the religious affairs department and two from the culture department. The tourism and religious affairs projects together carry an estimated outlay of over Rs 35 crore. Among the key proposals is the establishment of a ‘Parampara’ tourism and culture centre to serve as a common gateway for Bareilly division’s religious, cultural and historical attractions. The project is intended to promote lesser-known destinations.The tourism department has proposed visitor amenities at 22 temples, ashrams, a gurdwara and other religious sites, multipurpose halls, drinking water and sanitation facilities, QR code-based information systems, seating, signage and landscaping.The review covered proposals to redevelop Ramlila grounds in Shahjahanpur and Pilibhit as year-round cultural spaces besides a 500-seat auditorium-cum-library at Dataganj in Badaun.
