Chennai: BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran on Friday said the BJP would not involve itself in any effort to form the govt in Tamil Nadu following the Assembly election results. In a statement, he said the party had contested the elections with the aim of serving the welfare and progress of the people of Tamil Nadu but had accepted the verdict delivered by the electorate. “We believe that the people have not given the BJP any opportunity or mandate to form the govt in Tamil Nadu in this election,” Nagenthran said.“We also wish to inform the people that we will not vote in support of any party involved in efforts to form the govt,” he said.
