Lucknow: The co-owner of the building named in the FIR remains absconding. Police have so far arrested four accused who are now in 14-day judicial custody. However, co-owner of the building, Surendra Pratap Shukla, remains out of police reach despite ongoing searches.The multistorey building in Aliganj where the fire broke out was jointly owned by Virendra Prasad Shukla and his brother Surendra Pratap Shukla. Virendra, who also runs the Rameshwaram Institute of Technology and Management, was arrested shortly after the incident. Police teams have since conducted searches at locations linked to Surendra, including their residence in Madeyganj on Sitapur Road, but he is yet to be traced.Investigators have repeatedly stated that accountability will be fixed and all those responsible for alleged safety lapses and negligence leading to the tragedy will face action.Additional DCP (North) Twinkle Jain, who is supervising the investigation, told TOI that Surendra was on the run.The four arrested accused are Virendra Prasad Shukla, Ram Krishna Upadhyay, owner of the pet shop operating from the premises; Tushank Krishna Jaiswal, director of the animation studio functioning there; and Suresh Kumar Sahu, who handled networking-related work in the building.
