NEW DELHI: In yet another incident during election campaigning by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay, a bike rider met with an accident during the actor-politician’s roadshow in Tamil Nadu’s Sivaganga on Friday.The incident was caught on camera.Footage shared by news agency ANI showed a group of bike-borne youths riding behind a van and attempting to take a selfie when one of the riders met with an accident.Further details are awaited.In September last year, at least 41 people were killed in a stampede at Vijay’s rally in Tamil Nadu’s Karur. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the case after the Supreme Court transferred the investigation from a special investigation team (SIT) set up by the Madras high court.The Tamil superstar, popularly known as “Thalapathy” (leader), launched TVK in February 2024. The party made its electoral debut in the Puducherry Assembly election on Thursday, contesting 28 of the 30 seats and allotting two constituencies to its ally, Neyam Makkal Kazhagam.However, its primary focus remains Tamil Nadu, where the party is contesting all 234 seats. Vijay himself is in the fray from two constituencies — Tiruchi East and Perambur.The southern state will vote on April 23, with counting scheduled for May 4.
