CHANDAULI: A class 10 student was allegedly stabbed to death by a 16-year-old student during an extra class at a school in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district on Friday.The victim, identified as Lavkush (16) from Pratappur village, had reached the school around 7 am to attend an extra class when the attack took place on the campus, police said.The accused, also a minor, allegedly stabbed Lavkush in the chest and upper abdomen following a dispute. During questioning, the boy claimed that Lavkush had been abusing him for the past two-three days.Teachers at school caught the accused immediately after the incident and handed him over to the police. PTI reported.Police said Lavkush sustained serious injuries on his chest and upper abdomen after being stabbed. He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Circle Officer (Sadar) Devendra Kumar said the body has been sent for postmortem examination and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.The accused has been sent to a juvenile home, while further investigation is underway, police added.(With agency inputs)
