Anthropic launched Claude Design in research preview, a product that generates interactive prototypes, pitch decks, landing pages, and wireframes from text prompts or uploaded documents. It runs on Opus 4.7 and exports to Canva, PDF, PPTX, and HTML – with a Canva partnership for seamless handoff. The target users are telling: product managers, founders, and marketers, not primarily designers. Anthropic is going after the people who need design output but never learned Figma, which is a different competitive angle than building a better design tool. Coming days after CPO Mike Krieger left Figma’s board and Figma shares dropped 7%, the launch confirms that Anthropic views vertical SaaS categories as fair game for direct entry.
