SRINAGAR/JAMMU: Jammu & Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah sharpened his attack Centre over delay in restoring statehood, asking Sunday whether he should “go to Donald Trump” after BJP politicians allegedly dismissed protests in J&K, assembly and outside Parliament as futile.“Our patience is running out. First they said statehood won’t come by raising it in assembly, then not by protesting in J&K. Now they say we won;t get it at Jantar Mantar either. Should I go to Donald Trump at White House to seek J&K’s statehood?” Omar asked at a rally in Jammu.National Conference will launch a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on July 20, first day of Parliament’s monsoon session, saying it has waited nearly two years after assembly elections and “enough is enough”.Recalling PM Narendra Modi’s assurance at Katra, Omar said: “If it is Modi’s promise, it should be honoured.” He said every demand for a timeline draws only one reply — “at the appropriate time” — without any indication of when that would be.Omar said NC would continue its campaign through democratic means until statehood is restored, adding that protest outside Parliament was aimed only at securing a promise made “in our own country”.
