Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will distribute appointment letters to newly selected nursing officers of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, at an official event on Sunday. An official spokesperson said that a total of 665 nursing officers have been selected at the institute, including 345 men and 320 women, reflecting a balanced recruitment drive.Of these, 20 candidates will receive their appointment letters directly from the CM at the event, while the remaining candidates will be handed over appointment letters online in their respective districts through public representatives.Medical education department officials said that the appointments are expected to significantly boost the availability of trained nursing staff in govt hospitals across Uttar Pradesh. The addition of new personnel is likely to reduce the workload on existing staff and ensure more efficient patient care.Officials said the move would help improve patient management, strengthen nursing support systems and enhance the overall quality of treatment in state-run facilities. It is also expected to benefit rural and semi-urban healthcare centres, where shortages of trained staff have often posed challenges.
