Col Rajesh Raghav, former principal of UP Sainik school, Lucknow, was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) on Tuesday at 14 division headquarters, Dehradun. Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta presented the honour. Commissioned in 1996, he transformed multiple Sainik schools and played a role in establishing institutions in Jhunjhunu and Gorakhpur. UP Sainik school achieved 100% board results and NDA selections during his tenure.
