Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Tent Caterers and Decorators Welfare Association has raised objections to the steep hike in commercial LPG cylinder prices, stating that the move will put additional financial pressure on both businesses and consumers.“The move would directly impact catering services, especially during the ongoing wedding season in May. Many caterers have already booked events at earlier rates, and the sudden increase in fuel costs will result in financial losses for them,” association president, Vijay Kumar Verma, said.He said the price of commercial cylinders has risen from around Rs 1,850 to Rs 2,200, and now to Rs 3,200, making it difficult for small and medium businesses to survive.According to the association, the impact will not be limited to caterers but also affect restaurants, roadside eateries, tea vendors and small food sellers. The increased operational costs may lead to higher prices for food items, ultimately affecting consumers. The association has urged govt to roll back the hike.
