Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Congress has written to Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (MVVNL) demanding Rs 25 lakh as ex gratia and employment to a family member of the contractual employee who died of electrocution on Saturday.UP Congress president Ajay Rai paid a visit to the family of Parshuram, who died while working on an 83 kV power line. After offering condolences to the bereaved family, Rai said Parshuram belonged to an extremely poor family and was the sole breadwinner.“He is survived by three daughters. His untimely death has left the family in distress,” Rai said.“The govt should provide immediate financial assistance to the family and ensure a govt job for an eligible member so that the upbringing and education of children are not adversely affected,” he said.Lucknow district president Rudra Daman Singh said that the Congress would ensure follow-ups with the authorities to provide relief to the family.
