Lucknow: The UP Congress will hold candlelight marches and satyagrahas across all districts on Saturday to protest against alleged irregularities in the NEET and CBSE examination systems and demand the resignation of union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.UP Congress media department chairperson CP Rai said on Friday that the protests, to be organised on the directions of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), are part of the party’s nationwide campaign against the Centre.A circular issued by UP Congress president Ajay Rai has asked all district and city units to organise the programmes in their respective headquarters.According to the party, the marches will conclude at statues of Mahatma Gandhi or Babasaheb BR Ambedkar, where workers will hold a satyagraha in solidarity with students and youth allegedly affected by irregularities in the examination system.Rai said that the protests were aimed at highlighting what the party described as the loss of credibility of the country’s examination system. The Congress also reiterated its demand for Pradhan’s resignation over the alleged irregularities.The party has directed its district, city and block units, along with frontal organisations, to ensure the programmes remain peaceful while mobilising students, youth, parents and civil society members to participate.
