Lucknow: Gomti Riverfront turned into a breathtaking open-air stage where art, music and community blended into one flowing expression of creativity. What unfolded was a citywide celebration of imagination as citizens gathered to paint, perform and participate in a shared artistic experience under the evening sky.The Riverfront Art Project was conceptualised and led by Adwaita enterprises, in collaboration with the Lucknow development authority and the Colorothon foundation, transforming the Gomti riverfront into a living public art zone. The initiative showcased mural works by global artists such as Yantr, Ruchin Soni and Kunal Singh, with containers reimagined as bold visual statements of urban creativity.From medical students of Hind Medical College describing it as a “much-needed stress-buster for those pursuing MBBS,” to engineering students Ayesha and Arpita exploring abstract and landscape art despite academic pressure, the event drew participants from all walks of life. “I hardly get time to paint, but today I feel free to express myself through my art,” said Ayesha.Young creators like Ayan and Hardik experimented fearlessly, while BFA students from Lucknow University, Akshat, Rachit, Ilma and Saumya brought vibrant illustration styles to life. A heartwarming moment unfolded as mother-daughter duo Divya and Aanvi painted side by side. “Art connects generations in the simplest and most effortless way.” said Divya.Participants also turned their attention to the city’s identity, painting iconic landmarks including the majestic Rumi Darwaza, the historic Lucknow Residency, the imposing Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and the architectural grandeur of the Allahabad High Court Lucknow Bench, alongside sweeping landscapes of the riverfront too. “Every brushstroke felt like we were preserving the soul of Lucknow,” said RachitCreative Director Zehra said the space helps people turn their feelings into art. Founder of Adwaita Enterprises, Ananjay Bhushan said, “When communities create together, cities feel alive and dynamic.”
