Lucknow: Chief secretary SP Goyal directed divisional commissioners and district magistrates to carry out an immediate survey of crop after last week’s unseasonal rain and said that compensation should be released under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).Addressing the officers via video conferencing on Wednesday, the CS said that a special fitness and safety inspection campaign for school vehicles will be carried out from April 1 to April 15. “The transport department has developed an integrated school vehicle monitoring portal with the objective of making the monitoring of school vehicles more effective and transparent. During this campaign, all schools should be mandatorily required to register details of vehicles operated by them on this portal,” the CS said.During a review of cow shelters, the CS said that a special fodder collection campaign should be held from April 15, under which fodder should be procured through donation and purchase. He said that grazing land located within four-km radius of each cow shelter should be linked to expand fodder coverage.In view of the upcoming wheat harvest season, the CS said that fodder should be purchased from local farmers at minimum rates and stored in permanent fodder godowns.
