Lucknow: Lucknow Police’s Cyber Cell, in collaboration with NGO Prayas, on Saturday held an awareness session for around 400 students of a private school, educating them on how to recognise and tackle evolving cyber threats.NGO coordinator Anushangi Khemka said the session at St Mary’s Inter College focused on real-world cyber risks faced by school students, including social media scams, malicious APK files, online gaming threats, hacked WhatsApp accounts and cyberbullying.Head constable Gaurav Shukla of the Cyber Cell advised students against uploading personal photographs or sensitive information on social media and urged them to keep their social media profiles private and avoid links or messages from unknown persons.Students were also briefed on malware that infects mobile phones through fake APK files, precautions while playing online games, and the procedure for recovering hacked WhatsApp accounts.Cyber Cell officials urged students to immediately report cyber fraud or online harassment instead of dealing with it on their own.
