Lucknow: UP govt on Thursday approved increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state govt employees, raising it to 60% of basic pay with effect from Jan 1, 2026.According to a govt order issued by the finance department, the revised DA rates have been implemented in line with the Centre’s decision for its employees. The order applies to regular state employees, aided educational and technical institution staff, urban local body employees, work-charged staff and personnel drawing pay under UGC scales.The arrears for the period from Jan 1 to April 30 will be deposited into the employees’ General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts. In cases employees are covered under the National Pension System, a portion of the arrears will be credited to Tier-I pension accounts, while the remaining amount will be deposited in the provident fund or provided through National Savings Certificates, as per rules.
