Lucknow: A seven-year-old boy allegedly attacked his father with a meat cleaver after being refused permission to accompany his uncle and aunt to Jammu, leaving the man critically injured in Gonda district on Sunday.According to police, the victim, a differently-abled man, lives with his two sons. His wife reportedly left the family seven years ago after the birth of their younger son. While the elder son lives with his uncle and aunt in Jammu, the younger child stays with his father.Police said the child’s uncle, aunt and elder brother had come to the village and were scheduled to return to Jammu on Sunday. The seven-year-old asked his father to allow him to accompany them but he refused.

Around 1 pm, after the father had fallen asleep on a cot, the child allegedly picked up a cleaver and attacked him repeatedly, striking his head and face multiple times.The victim was shifted to hospital where he remains in critical condition.“The boy was sent to juvenile home. During questioning, he told police that he attacked his father because he was not being allowed to travel to Jammu with his uncle’s family,” said CO, City, Yogendra Singh.
