Lucknow: Over 15,000 devotees gathered at Natkur Ground in Sarojini Nagar for the grand ‘Dharm Utsav,’ turning the event into a vibrant confluence of faith, music and spirituality. Organised under the leadership of local MLA Rajeshwar Singh, the event, which was also attended by UP finance minister Suresh Khanna, witnessed an overwhelming turnout from villages and towns across the constituency. The highlight of the event was a performance by noted bhajan singer Kanhaiya Mittal, whose soulful renditions captivated the audience. As he sang his popular bhajan “Jo Ram Ko Laaye Hain, Hum Unko Laayenge,” the entire ground echoed with chants, with devotees seen swaying in devotion late into the night. Addressing the gathering, MLA Rajeshwar Singh said his vision is to develop Sarojini Nagar not only in terms of infrastructure but also as a cultural and spiritual hub. He highlighted initiatives such as the Ram Rath Shravan Yatra, through which thousands of residents have been facilitated to visit Ayodhya. Singh also announced plans to launch a ‘Shyam Rath Yatra’ for devotees and expressed his commitment to constructing a grand Khatu Shyam temple in the region, a proposal that received enthusiastic support from the crowd following Mittal’s suggestion.The MLA further stated that around 220 temples in the constituency have already undergone beautification and renovation as part of efforts to strengthen cultural and religious identity.
