Lucknow: The management of Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) on Saturday said the campus has been fully equipped with Wi‑Fi services from the 2026-27 academic session, allowing students easy access to online research material, assistive devices and virtual seminars.Apart from regular students, DSMNRU officials said the initiative will benefit students with disabilities by providing reliable internet access that supports assistive technologies such as screen readers, speech-to-text software, captioning services and other accessibility tools.“Initially, we will keep the Wi‑Fi speed low and observe its usage. The speed will then be gradually increased as per demand, providing access to e-books, journals, lecture notes, learning management systems and online courses,” said DSMNRU spokesperson Yashwant Virodai. He added that faculty members and staff will also be able to receive real-time notifications, academic updates, timetables and emergency alerts. To strengthen security, the university has also been equipped with a CCTV surveillance system installed at a cost of Rs 8 crore, officials said.
