NEW DELHI: Actor-politician and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Monday mocked the Gen Z-led protests spearheaded by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), the internet-sensation-turned-pressure group that drew thousands of students at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The Mandi MP took to Instagram Stories to slam Gen Z protest reels, calling them “puke inducing.”In a sharply worded post, Ranaut mocked the protesters’ style of expression and conduct, writing, “the way they speak, and the kind of language they are using, never in my life I have seen everything in each and every frame so jarring and so crass all at ones, ewwww who is birthing and raising them?”She then turned her fire on the movement’s signature “cockroach” metaphor, which had become the defining symbol of the protests. “you call yourself cockroaches and look/behave like them as there is no paradox or juxtaposition there, just simply subjecting the world to your filth and garbage and ugliness,” she wrote.Wrapping up her Instagram Stories, Ranaut added, “I am scarred by these reels.”Her remarks came just days after the CJP called off its agitation following multiple rounds of talks with Union ministers Jagat Prakash Nadda and Jitendra Singh. The group announced the end of the protests after the Centre accepted its principal demand with the resignation of then Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.Following Pradhan’s exit, the Narendra Modi-led government appointed senior BJP leader Pralhad Joshi as the new Union education minister.
