Norwegian Air has kept its social media bet with British Airways by changing its Instagram profile picture to the British airline’s logo for 24 hours after England beat Norway 2-1 in their FIFA World Cup quarter-final on Sunday (IST).Before the match, the two airlines agreed to a friendly wager. The losing side would replace its Instagram profile picture with the winner’s logo for one day. Following Norway’s defeat, Norwegian Air carried out the promise.“While the tournament is over for us, this friendly bet will forever live in all our hearts. We wish England and British Airways all the best in the semi-final, and we sincerely hope you’ll get to bring football home!” Norwegian wrote under the unfamiliar logo.England came from 1-0 down to win 2-1 and book a semi-final clash against defending champions Argentina, ending Norway’s best-ever FIFA World Cup campaign.The quarter-final was a milestone for Norway, who reached the last eight of the World Cup for the first time in their history after qualifying for the tournament for the first time since 1998.Norway’s previous best World Cup performances were Round of 16 finishes in 1938 and 1998, along with a group-stage appearance in 1994.England, who won the World Cup in 1966, are now one win away from reaching another final.
