Lucknow: A case has been registered at Saadatganj police station after an alleged fake Facebook profile was used to post objectionable, abusive and misleading content against Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad and others.The FIR was lodged on the complaint of Rustamnagar resident Abbas Mehndi, who alleged that unidentified anti-social elements had created a fake Facebook account and were using it to circulate objectionable posts targeting his friends, advocate Mohammad Naqvi, Miesam and Maulana Kalbe Jawad.According to the complaint, the accused allegedly used photographs of the individuals without permission and superimposed hateful, insulting and indecent remarks on them before posting the material on social media.Mehndi alleged that the posts were intended to harm the social and professional reputation of those targeted.Police have registered a case on the basis of his complaint and are investigating the matter with the assistance of the cyber cell.Officials said efforts are underway to identify the person or persons operating the fake Facebook profile.
