Lucknow: A fire broke out on the second floor of a residential building in Wazirganj on Saturday morning, allegedly due to a short circuit, gutting household items and goods stored in two rooms.According to the fire department, information about the blaze was received at around 11.01 am at the Fire Station Chowk control room. The incident was reported from Nabiullah Road near Nai Basti River Bank Colony under Wazirganj police station limits.A firefighting team led by fire station officer, Pushpendra Kumar Yadav rushed to the spot with two fire tenders from Chowk fire station, while an additional fire engine from Hazratganj fire station was also dispatched.Upon reaching the location, firefighters found that the blaze had erupted on the second floor and had spread rapidly in two rooms where notebooks, books, and general store items were kept.The firefighting team launched an immediate operation to contain the blaze. Despite facing difficulties due to narrow lanes in the locality, the teams managed to lay multiple hose lines and carry out firefighting operations. After nearly one hour of sustained efforts, the blaze was completely brought under control.Officials said that although significant material loss occurred, there was no loss of life or injuries in the incident.
